Peter divides his time approximately equally between patents and trade mark matters, but also takes principal responsibility within the firm for design right and registered design issues, as well as advising in copyright issues. His patent work has covered many aspects of the broad field of engineering and he has long experience of protecting inventions in the medical device field, through both patents and designs, on an international basis. He has substantial experience of arguing oppositions before the European Patent Office. His trade mark work encompasses both contentious and non-contentious matters before the UK Trade Marks Registry and the Community Trade Marks Office (OHIM). Peter has handled numerous oppositions, usually arguing the hearings in person. He has experience in assisting clients with infringement litigation in the UK up to Appeal Court level.
