Before joining Elkington and Fife in 1998, Nick worked as an in-house patent attorney for Philips Electronics. He has experience in litigation in the High Court and of oral proceedings before the European Patent Office. A large proportion of Nick’s time is spent drafting electronics and opto-electronics patent applications for large multinational corporations. This work is mainly carried out on an overflow basis, instructed by the internal patent departments of those companies. In particular, Nick currently routinely drafts patent applications in the fields of semiconductor electronics, general electronics hardware, optical components and systems as well as mechanical devices. Nick has also had drafting experience in the area of medical electronics imaging systems.
